I'm looking forward to New Years. I don't think I have any major goals for the year... Obviously my main one is to save up as much money as possible, I want to pay for my schooling up front without taking out any loans so that's my goal. But aside from that, nothing special.
I'm not going to make any stupid 'I'm going to lose weight this year' goals, because lets face it, no one ever succeeds at those. We all say the same thing, and no one ever goes through with it, so, why kid myself? I won't work out, I know I won't. I'm too lazy to, I hate working out, it's the most boring thing ever.
My mom and I, however, did discuss how the Chinese are usually skinny, and came to the conclusion that it's probably because they eat with chopsticks.
Now you are probably laughing, but I have a theory here so hear me out. Canadians eat with forks. Thus making it very easy to take large bites, and more of them since the fork makes it easier to eat. They say it takes approximately 15-20 minutes for your stomach to sense that it is full. I don't know about you, but I can stuff a lot of food into me in that 15-20 minutes, MUCH more than is necessary. But, if you eat with chopsticks, how much food can you really stuff into yourself in that same amount of time?
Oh yes, you're intruiged now!!
If you eat with chopsticks, since I am super bad at using them, I know that I would eat a lot slower than I do when I use the fork. If you eat slower, your stomach can actually keep up with how much food your putting into it, and send up the 'quit eating bitch' signal up to your brain when you are pleasantly full. Where as if I'm eating with Mr. Fork, I've long surpassed the amount of food that "fills" my stomach, and have now over-eaten and feel like I'm going to puke because my stomach is stretched to the max.
So there's my theory. Eat with chopsticks, get skinny. Eat with fork, get fat.
So my mom and I concluded that instead of making the typical "I will lose weight this year/I will work out more this year etc etc" goal, we would make our goal "I will eat my food with chopsticks this year."
I highly doubt I'd be able to stick to it cause when I'm hungry I can't get enough food in my mouth fast enough, but I still feel the theory is relevant.

What could it be?
Chopped my hair. To show? Or not to show? That is the question...
Perhaps you will see it for New Years...

Lets play catch up...
Christmas morning pictures. I am obsessed with these little pine grossbeaks. They're just so pretty and bright!!

My mom has the most amazing bird feeder. I just love it. It's so cute for pictures and they get a ton of neat birds up there that we don't get down here. Or at least we don't see down here since it's all city. Definitely the grossbeaks are my fave though, they have evening grossbeaks too but they're bright yellow. I didn't get to see any this time, they always came when I wasn't out there! Dammit anyways. It's really good to be back in Vancouver finally, but I think I picked a perfect time to leave! The snow here is insane, way more than we had up in FSJ... and wet! I don't know which is better. The weather in FSJ was crazy, at one point it got down to -38... and when I left it was -2. Such a drastic change... but I think it beats the CRAP weather down here that ruined most peoples plans.
Luckily I flew out the day before shit hit the fan, and my flight was on time. However coming back it was a 2 hour delay, but not so bad. On Friday it was a white-out up north so Hannah and I took advantage and went sledding with her new sled! Like here, we did get snow, just not wet heavy crap. Ours practically blew off the roads. But we got about 8 inches by the end of the 4 hour snowing period. 6 of them in the first 2 hours.
I kept checking up on the internet all day yesterday and at one point it said I was flying out at 7:30pm. My original flight was supposed to leave at 4:50pm. Since it was only like 3:30 and my brother hadn't eaten we thought, what the hell, lets go have some dinner, then we'll go visit Gramma for a bit. WELL... We had dinner which was great. I tried mussels for the first time, WEIRD I know I can't believe it was the first time, but I rather enjoyed them. I paid for dinner since my brother drove me back from PG and drove me out to the airport etc etc, and we headed up to my gramma's. I had JUST checked my flight before we left my brothers place an hour prior and it said 7:30 departure... but I thought, ah what the hell lets check it again at Gramma's. I look at it... 5:36 departure. It was 4:30 already. So I was like 'okay so no visiting much with gramma sorry grams!' and bailed on the poor old woman. I cruised like a mad man up to the airport (15/20 minute drive-ish) and was worried that they might change it again or something. Then I get there at about 10 to 5 and she tells me 'oh yeah it's been delayed until 6:30 now.'
Total gayness. My phone was almost dead so it wasn't even like I could sit there and blab on the phone for awhile to kill time. There was no where you could buy a book there, so I had nothing to read so luckily it wasn't any longer of a wait than what it was. Finally at about 8:30 I was off the plane, had my luggage, and was in the truck with Dario! We missed UFC however so that was gay but ah well I guess.
We went back to his place and I unleashed a few of the really strange Christmas presents that I had been given to give to Dario. AKA a moose call that looks like a folded up umbrella, and sounds absolutely hilarious. And a few puzzles that my mom figures he should try to do. You know those metal ones? Yeah one of those and some other random crap.
It was a really crazy Christmas full of random crap. IE My grandfather wrote me a check for $51.64... Talk about a random amount. So I have to phone him still and thank him, and when I do so I will ask him what the deal is with the weirdo dollars. He did the same for my brother so who knows. He drives hookers around so the guy is a little bit strange. (I'm not even kidding about that either, he gives hookers rides all over PG, which means he's probably sleeping with them too, yugh. My grandpa is a whore. HAH.) He's on my moms side of the family.
The whole week was filled with random events. On Tuesday night I had a Christmas party to attend... my mom however had to work the next day so we left around midnight. So around the time everyone I knew was arriving, I was on my way out. But not a big deal because I actually enjoyed just hanging out with baby Reace all night. There were a lot of people with their kids there for the earlier portion of the night, and some of the kids were there still when I left so it was a noisy place. Reace is only 4 and a half months old, and is the most adorable baby ever. She is SO good. She stays up really late and never puts up a fuss. However Tuesday her mom decided to take her off the boob and put her onto a bottle so that she could have a bit more of a life... but Reace hated the bottle and was definitely lettin everyone know it. It was the cutest thing actually, she was just yelling, not crying, YELLING random baby crap haha. She was piiisssed. Eventually she took the bottle from my mom, and then from me later on. And then shit herself and it went all up her back and onto her clothes so I went and changed her and she crashed for the night. I haven't changed a diaper in probably 9 years, and I wasn't sure if I remembered what I was doing, but apparently it comes second nature to women or something cause she was done and in new clothes in minutes.

Like how cute is that? Awe. One day it will be my turn. But I'll wait till I'm a little older since those little bundles of joy are also life suckers!! haha.Christmas Eve I went to dads during the day. And then to moms in the evening. We played sequence for a few hours and then finally drove back into town around 10 to sleep at dads house.
Yes rednecks put santa hats on their wall hangings. I happen to find it very amusing. Particularly the fish haha.
Some napkins at moms house.
Christmas Day was awesome. My brother wouldn't let me get any good pictures of him so as per usual, none of Josh. Or anyone else really for that matter, just Hannah mostly.
My stepmom and dad got me this blanket, I'm a blanket whore as previously mentioned. And yeah, I'm in love with it. Softest.Blanket.Ever.
Anyways...
I am making banana bread right now for Dario. Then I am going to go over there and make him dinner and clean up their house since he shovelled out my car for me this morning. I still have to shovel out a parking spot for in front of my house and it's like... ugh it's going to be brutal. Not looking forward to it at all.
I'm making twice baked potatoes for dinner tonight, So yummy I can't wait. I'm going to put at least half a pack of bacon in them. It's the only way!!
I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays!!

Really? Is that necessary?
It's cold again. -32 this morning. Typical. It's supposed to warm up to -8 on Boxing Day. I'm hoping so so I can go sledding with my little sister.
I cozied up on the couch with Hannah yesterday since I was dead tired. That's right, I spoon with my sister. I went back out to my moms around 8ish and a couple people came over to visit so I didn't get to bed till 11. Not too bad though, I woke up at quarter after 7 this morning and slept like a rock. For once.
I had lunch with my friend Amber today. We stopped to visit Kat but she's cleaning up her house today so she didn't come out with us. I have a Christmas party to go to tonight so I probably won't get to visit with her again while I'm here. I'm not sure if Amber will be allowed to come to the party tonight or not, I don't know if it's an invite only kinda thing or what. We'll see I guess.
I have a HORRIBLE zit and it's pissing me off. It's going to suck trying to take pictures tonight. Guess I'll have to do some serious cover up skills. Not that it's going to work but whatever. It's one of those bad ones, that comes under the skin for like 4 days then decides to come out but you can't do anything about it for like 2 frickin weeks. And for some reason I've had a bunch of those lately, I don't know what the effs going on but it's ball-licking fun. Not.
Whatever. I'm looking forward to tonight. Aside from this I won't be doing any visiting outside of my family. Boxing day will be the last day I have to visit with everyone. I've heard there's a big housewarming/boxing day party out at someones place that everyone's going to, but I don't think I'm gonna be goin to that.
I don't feel like drinking and partying and what not. I'm sure I'll have fun tonight once I'm out, but I don't want people seeing me with this nasty zit. No jokes I'm seriously self concious about this shit. It resembles a cold sore it's so huge. It's embarrassing. I'd rather tell people it's a cold sore than a friggen zit haha. yugh.
But yeah hopefully tonight will go well. I'll be back in Van in a few days and I actually can't wait. This town has some seriously ridiculous shit in it haha. At the restaurant we were at, there was a table full of indians, and not even kidding you, they had a heat dish placed next to the table. INSIDE A RESTAURANT. My god. Such a messed up place.

Fort St. James Mumble Jumble
Well I am in Fort now and I'm relaxing at my dad's house this morning. I woke up at 4am for some crazy reason and decided to read a book for awhile to try to get me tired enough to fall asleep. No juice, so I've been awake for 4 and a half hours already. DISGUSTING.
Aside from that my sleeping pattern is starting to get back into the norm. It probably helped that I slept for about 6 hours in 2 days so I was dead tired.
It was Dario's Christmas party on Friday night, which turned out to be extremely entertaining. One of the guys that works there got ridiculously drunk and ended up making a bit of a fool of himself. There's always one.
Saturday morning I got up at 5:30 and got ready and left. Our flight was about 20 minutes late leaving since we had to wait for some stupid Calgary transfers to get on the plane... boourns on you Calgary... and so we got into PG around 10:30. My mom had some last minute Christmas shopping to do so I followed her around while she did that. It was REALLY strange being in Prince George again.
First off, aside from my friends funeral in September of last year, this is the first time I have come back to FSJ by myself since I moved away. Some of the people I know here I haven't talked to since I left, or haven't seen since I left. One of them includes my friend Erin and her son Toren. I worked with her for 2 years at the mill and we were really close friends when I moved. She bought a house in Williams Lake and moved a couple weeks after I did. Unfortunately we haven't talked pretty much since then. And of course the first person I run into when I get into the mall happened to be her and her son. It was really great to see her, and I don't know if I was just tired and a little hung over combined with the weird sensation of being back in a familiar place, but it almost made the conversation a little awkward. I found that the whole day.
I haven't walked into a mall and ran into anyone I know since I moved to Vancouver. It's just not something that happens to you when you move somewhere new. So when you are all of a sudden back in a place where every 2nd face is familiar its just weird. Not to mention one girl called me over and started talking to me, and I honestly have NO idea who she was. I don't know if maybe she thought I was someone else, or if I actually knew her or what, but I don't know who it was. So that just made everything worse.
I used to get really homesick when I would spend the nights at my friends houses when I was a kid, and that same familiar feeling came back so for the whole day I was just so nervous that I felt nauseous. It was weird. Yesterday I felt a little more normal, so I think the anxiety part of it all has left now. I haven't gone and visited any of my friends yet and I don't know when I will. Today I am without a vehicle since my mom needed the car at lunch time so I figured I'd just get her to drop me off in town and I'd hang out at my dads place.
Oh did I mention it was -33 Sunday morning? Yeah... Freezing. It's now warmed up to -23 so it's not AS bad, but I don't know what it is with the windchill factor. Either way it's pretty fuckin cold outside. I might head down to the lake today. I wish I had a pair of skates cause I'd go skating on the lake but oh well. Whatevs. Since it is so cold, and got so cold so fast, the lake froze nearly instantly. Up until the last week the water was still open. What's cool when it does this though is there's now about a foot and a half of ice, but it's completely clear. So you can walk out on the water and see right through it to the ground. I want to go check it out and see if I can find a spot to take a picture or something. Even the river is frozen right now. You know it's cold when moving water freezes. Ugh.
Yesterday my mom and I did Christmas wrapping, then around 1 or 2 I came to my dads place to hang out here. I had dinner over here last night and then we watched Chevy Chase's Christmas Vacation. Our family Christmas movie! It's still my favourite.
Aside from that it's been pretty quiet around here. I have a lot of people I'm supposed to go see. Amber is in town and wants me to get ahold of her, and I'm supposed to visit with Kat also. A guy I used to work with also wants me to come see him. Not to mention everyone else I graduated with that are more so aquaintances, they all want to get together too since it's been a few years since we've seen eachother.
Tomorrow night though I am going to a Christmas party, and the last I checked nearly 70 people were invited... and I'm sure knowing this town, that everyones going to show up whether they were invited or not, and I will see most of my friends then.
Christmas Eve morning I am spending at my dads house, then back out to my moms house for the evening, then back to my dads house to sleep over so I can wake up with the kids Christmas morning. Gong show I know. Then I'll do Christmas here first, then drive out to my moms house and do Christmas with her, then drive back to my dads house for dinner. Then I will go out to my moms friends house after dinner to get together with her again.
Sounds ridiculous? Welcome to every Christmas I do. I think marriage will almost make it easier since then I'll only have to do Christmas's like this every second year. Not that it's horrible or anything, it's just a lot of running back and forth and picking and choosing, and sometimes a little arguing. Buuuut either way... I'm looking forward to being home for Christmas.
Although I miss Dario. It's very weird not having him here with me.
Anyways. I suppose I should go. My family is now waking up, Josh is still in bed, but my stepmom's finally awake so time to visit!!
I'll see you all when I get back! Merry Christmas if I don't get a chance to get on here before then!

He wouldn't lick my calves!
I met up with my mom and her friend Kelly tonight. It proved interesting. Kelly told the store clerk she would buy the shoes if he licked her calves... he jokingly called security and she threatened to take on the security guards. People in Vancouver do not understand northern humor at all. As we left the store Kelly and my mom flirted with the security guards a bit (a couple young guys) and asked if they would lick Kelly's calves... after the security guards said yes, we left the store.
Never a dull moment...
I'm tired.

E-mails and one liners from Grandma
I passed out at 10 and woke up at 3am. So I watched Aladdin and now I'm reading old e-mails from my Grandma. I thought I would share a few of my favourites:
Hah! You beat him to the draw! My God, they sure throw the tests at you. It's not like high school, huh? I was so lucky with Corbin's gift. He and Haley collect webkins and I got him one he didn't have. He's pretty happy to be 6. Haley is 8. How to make a person feel old! Haven't talked to Ellen since Tues. but am going to try and convince her to go for the dye test. It's the only way to find out for sure what's going on. There's more to it then weight. If she had a stroke, Garry wouldn't be much use to her. I am sick of everything I cook so today I'm making an old Norwegian concoction. It's not hard, just takes all frigging day. Spencer says the C.B.C. is in the Fort to do a piece on the economy there. Can you say toilet? Who the hell watches C.B.C. anyhow? That's the grumblings from here, love, Gramma.
Your Dad scooped you on the marks you got. He had to phone! I don't know how you can get the math. I didn't understand geometry or algebra until I went for my G.E.D. Anyhow, good on you. Where do you go in a canoe? Is there any small waters near? That Dad of yours is pretty wily. He asked Josh in front of Cheryl, if he thought a boat would be fun. Josh was all for it so Spencer figures he's got it made! Ellen was so happy when she heard you wanted her e-mail address. She's on her way alone today. Hope everything turns out okay. Garry got called in to work as a young fellow employee had heart surgery and can't hack work yet. That was more important. I could say something but am trying to tone down my potty mouth! I know I'm not your typical grandmother.I'm not going to the track today as the air is not so good, from our big fires. More people out of a job. It's nice to be retired! I'm living like the Indians, on government checks! Anyhow, I will let you know how Ellen makes out as soon as I hear. Love, Gramma.
Guess Cheryl had quite a time with the garage sale yesterday. People came before she was ready and were into everything. It doesn't matter what time you say everyone thinks they're going to get the jump on things. You need three people just to watch the frigging Indians. I'm not predjudiced, just telling it like it is! Well, got some running around to do so that's it for now. Love to you and Dario, Gramma.
And my personal favourite:
Thank you for the card and wishes. You know you're old when going braless takes the lines out of your face. I've gotten lots of cards, money, scratch tickets,(no winners),phone call from an old friend at Barriere, e-mail from neices in Sask. and Victoria so haven't felt neglected. Ellen sent a plate with a raised flower on it from one of the craft places there. It is shaped like a leaf. Yesterday I diddled around til I made room for it. Notice how I have cleaned up my language. Fucking awesome, right? It's a free supper at the Caribou tonight. More like afternoon, as Garry wants to go at 4.30. No wonder he has to eat again before bedtime. Well, better go see what expandible clothes I can get into. Love you, Gramma.

Random thoughts for the day
I took nyquil to sleep tonight.
I made it again until 9 this morning, looked outside and saw all the snow and knew my plans for the day were ruined, and went to bed until this afternoon.
My lips are dry and intense amounts of vaseline aren't helping at all.
I went to the mall this evening and found a pretty necklace to wear to the Christmas Party on Friday.
I finally got my favourite pair of shoes re-heeled. I've never touched up any pair of shoes in my life before, but these ones I love SO much. I bought them 2 and a half years ago at a midnight madness sale in Vanderhoof... They were regular 180 bucks and I got them for 80. How can you pass up a deal like that? They are the comfiest shoes I've ever worn, even considering they're 4 inches high.
I'm whitening my teeth right now and the retainer-like trays I use to whiten my teeth with are really annoying. I have naturally very white teeth since I don't drink coffee or smoke or do any of that stain-related stuff, and I don't think that this whitening bleach even helps whiten my teeth anymore than they already are. I pretend it does though.
I was supposed to see my mom tonight but her flight was delayed 2 hours because of ice in Vancouver. Because of that she decided her and her friend would get half pissed before the flight and when she called she insisted that I meet up with them downtown even though it'd be at least 9 before they'd make it to their hotel. She claimed that Vancouver is full of wussies who can't drive and that the weather here isn't even that bad... when she landed she called me and cancelled plans when she realized the roads sucked and was worried about me driving on them.
Tomorrow night I am having a pre-Christmas get together (aka family dinner) with Dario and his family since I will not see them for Christmas. After that I will be meeting up with my mom for copious amounts of shopping. I knew she'd want to hit up the downtown area and the mall before she left.
Friday night I am probably going to get drunk. I am making it my goal not to get drunk to the point of a hangover though. My flight leaves the next morning at 8:55am.
I wanted to wear my green dress to the Christmas party but Dario informed me that it was more "banquet/wedding" material, so I am resorting back to my grey dress. Even though I wear it for most "fancier" occasions, I still love it. I've only worn my green dress once, and I would like to wear it again sometime so someone have a fancy event I can wear it to dammit.
I have no New Years plans yet, but I would like to find something to do this year.
I have A- blood. Which means I will have to be careful when I have babies incase Dario has a positive RH. I'm glad I know this ahead of time now. My mom is also A- and I believe her sister is also. Either way, my aunt definitely has the negative RH because they didn't catch it with her first pregnancy and she built up the antibody to the positive RH and her next three pregnancies became high risk. In her last pregnancy she had twins. When she was 6 months pregnant one of the twins had to have a blood transfusion because her antibodies were killing the babies red blood cells. I had no idea you could even give a baby a full blood transfusion while it is still in the womb until then. She has 5 boys. I laugh when I watch Jon and Kate plus 8 because they always count their kids when they're out and about, and my aunt does the same thing when they're out anywhere.
I occasionally like to sing at the top of my lungs when I'm home by myself. I pretend I am good. I am defs not.
I have the urge to cut my hair already and it's only been 2 months since I last cut it. I am so tempted to do this:

I probably won't though because I know that the bob is now on it's way out. Guess what? Perms are coming back. You have no idea how much I love curly hair. If I had long enough hair I would totally perm it. One day I will. It is one of very few things I've never done to my hair.
I probably won't be getting married for at least another year and a half, but I occasionally look for wedding hair already because I know it's going to take me damn near that long just to make up my mind.

I need some mint chapstick
I don't know what to do. It's 4:30 in the morning, and I want to wake up at 8 so I can get some shit done today. I don't know if there's a point in going to bed anymore because it'll probably just make me even more tired and I'll have way too much trouble getting out of bed. I think I'll just kill some time blogging and then maybe shower, and clean or something?! haha I don't know. No point going to sleep now.
I have a list of crap I have to finish today. I managed to make 4 extra Christmas cards tonight in a matter of like, 2 hours. I repeated some of the same outlines as my other cards but added a few new details or used different prints. Either way, they're done and out of the way so now I just have to write in them then they're DONE!
I have ONE gift to buy... so I thought... But I realized my sisters birthday is January 11th so I might as well buy her gift now so she has something to open and I don't have to worry about mailing anything. My brother and I already bought her a guitar, (spoiled or what?) so I figured I'd buy her a decent tuner for it since the one that they threw in with the guitar is really crappy. I also have to buy a set of guitar strings for Josh but I think I am going to do the tuner/string shopping when I get to PG since the only music stores I know around here are extremely out of my way. I originally had a 50 dollar budget on my brother and sister, then an 80 dollar budget, and now it's turned into 100 bucks. BUT THATS IT. Fuck. I guess I can't completely call them spoiled, since they only get one Christmas, and my other brother and I get two (probably the only plus side to a divorced family, double holidays bitchesss) so yeah. Whatever. Besides, I'm their big sister, I'm supposed to buy them cool shit... I do enjoy it too. I love giving people gifts, I'm not a big fan of getting them, but I do love finding presents for people when I can afford it.
I didn't realize that this week was going to become as busy as it has. I leave first thing Saturday morning and my mom gets into town tonight so it definitely cuts my time to run errands in half. Also my friend Brendon is in town and wanted to meet up tonight but we'll see if I'm going to be able to or not. Or whether or not I feel like it more so. Cards are off the list, I painted my toenails so that's off the list. I've washed my dress for the Christmas party on Friday... I even planned out how I'm going to do my hair so that I don't sit there an hour before the party going 'fuck what am I going to do with my hair?!?!' ... I am entirely packed except for toiletries. And my camera obvs cause I'll need that Friday night. I had to actually put "EAT" on my list of stuff to do because I realized I didn't eat today until about 7pm or later. I've got my hunting license and tags in order so no worries about that. I picked an appy to make for the Perizzolo dinner on Jan. 4th, and I've done my EI report so I'm good there till the 27th. So that only leaves:
-Get shoes re-heeled
-pay phone bill
-wrap Dario's gift
-Sign cards
-get the tripod from Dario
-clean up the house so it's clean when I come home :)
-find that one extra present
I THINK that's it.
I'm listening to this song right now... I know the band is becoming really mainstream and what not and most of their shit sucks, but I like that song. It reminds me of a local Vancouver band. I can't find the version of the song that I have that I like, but however I did find this and it's amusing me. That six year old can friggen scream!! Her scream matches the song DEAD ON! I'd hate to be her mother... imagine the hissy fit that kid could throw.
This might be a better song to compare the singers with.
I apparently find a lot of lame things when I'm killing time on the internet at 5 in the morning. Sweet Jesus.
I came across my hair extensions today while I was packing. So I decided to put them in my hair. When I bought them I believe they were 14 inches long, which looked so stupid with my hair because my hair was way too short to make it blend well. So I cut them?? Pointless basically. I never wear them, but I put them in today and the colour matches perfectly with the brown that I have in there now, and the length doesn't look too horrible, it would if I were to just leave my hair down, but they'll work great for an updo now, so I figure I would put them to use on Friday. I know how much Dario loves them, NOT. He thinks they're disgusting because it's someone elses hair hahaha.
I bought a new toque the other day because I realized I didn't have one anymore. Which I found SO odd because I used to have at least 5. They were a clothing staple in FSJ and I just couldn't figure out why I would get rid of them. I know that two of them I used to use at work at the mill, and I'm not sure if I chucked them when I moved or what. They might have just been left behind. But I had a couple billabong toques, one white, and one light green, and I'm guessing maybe I used those for work last winter? I have NO idea what I did with them but they're MIA too. But I had a beige/navy blue Rusty toque as well and I couldn't find it either. Sure enough today I was deciding on whether or not to bring my work boots or snowboarding boots to Fort with me, and when I pulled my snowboarding boots out I came across my Rusty toque along with a pair of goggles and shit too. It was so weird. I have an obsession with toques but luckily I don't have any reason to buy them anymore.
I tried falling asleep at midnight tonight, but was disturbed greatly by my landlords having sex upstairs, and yes, the sound of a vibrator. It's so weird. During the day it doesn't seem like you hear much noise coming from upstairs, even with them having two kids and what not, but at night time the whole house makes noises. The floor creaks all of a sudden, it's just weird. And no it's not because it's any quieter, I still have the tv running along with my computer and music/movies. So I donno whats up there.
Ugh, when my mom asked me what I wanted for Christmas I should have told her new perfume. I always want it but never buy it, because it's retardedly expensive just to smell good. I love Dolce&Gabbana's light blue. Sigh, how I heart you <3
Well it's 5:30. I've blabbed about enough random shit to take it to an hour where I can maybe find something to do.

Plane Rules and Regulations
I failed miserably. At 9 this morning I finally had a nap.... until 2. HAH. Which is going to throw off the balance even moooreee. I guess I'll just have to force myself to get up super early in the morning until I am tired enough to start going to bed at a decent hour.
I am packing, and it kind of sucks because I need all of my makeup and hairstuff for Friday. So I can't really pack that until the very last minute which is lame. I also don't know if I can bring my hunting knife... Should be okay so long as it's in a checked in bag right?? I'll have to check all my bags in since I'll have more than 100ml bottles of stuff in there. UGH.

If I had balls, they would be frozen.
I'm trying to pull an all nighter tonight because my sleep schedule is just retardedly screwed up. I've been staying up so late and then end up sleeping in. And since no one else is home it doesn't really matter if I sleep in late. So it makes it even harder to motivate yourself to roll your lazy ass out of bed.
I have a lot to do this week however. I have 2 more gifts to go out and find. I thought I was done Christmas shopping, but alas I am not. I will also now have to seperate Christmas cards and instead of just making the one, I'll be turning that 1 into 4. Interesting.... So I'll probably work on that tonight/tomorrow since I'll have nothing better to do with my time.
Tonight Dario and I went for a drive over to Kensington street to see the Buone Feste house which is insane with lights.

While we were out driving around checking out Christmas lights we ended up pointing out all of the nice houses we liked. We have very similar tastes in homes and it was kind of nice just picking out all the ones we liked. Not that it serves any importance to either of us, but I like looking at homes for some weird reason.
I tried to find one house that was over on royal oak somewhere on one of the side streets closer to marine drive, but instead we ended up finding this old gmc:

It was the coolest truck I have ever seen. I am in love with it! It's just so old school how can you not?! It'd be a pig on gas though so good thing gas at least has gone down a little bit.
My room is fucking freezing, so I hate spending any time on my computer. I am literally curled up in the wool blanket Dario brought me back from Italy and it's just not making this situation any warmer. I am pretty sure now that the heat vent in my room doesn't work at all, and I can't tell if maybe it's closed or what. So I think I might have to see if Dario can check that out for me since I'm too short. I don't even have a solid chair in this house either, all of them roll so standing on them pretty much ends up with a close call to death. I am going to ask my landlord if he can winterize all the windows again since I think that's the biggest problem. I just went to check my window and there's definitely a major draft coming in from that. Since I leave on Saturday I'll see if he can come in while I'm gone. The space heater isn't even helping at all.
Tonight Mark came over. He was going to try to pull an all nighter with me but he wussied out. While I was at Dario's tonight, his brother was watching How The Grinch Stole Christmas... the old school cartoon version... combine that with the drive of checking out Christmas lights and I sort of got in a Christmas spirit and decided to bake some sugar cookies. I figured I'd double the batter since it didn't seem like that much... but no, it was way too much. I still have quite a bit left over that I decided to freeze because we were getting sick of baking.

Our first attempt with cookies failed miserably. I'm not quite sure what happened but for some reason they all flattened out BIG time... So we just ate those ones instead.
Our second batch luckily didn't come out nearly as big. We spaced them out a little further apart as a precaution and decided that we'd just quit using the cookie cutters and just use cups to cut out smaller cookies. Those things were way too big!
I realized I didn't have a rolling pin, and I considered buying one but thought... no. I didn't figure I'd ever be making these again anytime soon so I figure it would be a waste of money, and I just don't have the cupboard space to jam in any more shit. So I improvised with a bottle of Krystals wine haha.

It worked quite well actually, at least well enough to get the job done.

Mark made a skull with green hair, SO un-Christmas-like but it made for a good laugh. And I don't really know whats up with the baseball but whatever haha. It was entertaining enough. The shitty decorating kit I picked up for a whole 4 bucks is absolutely horrible haha. I wish I had a nice kit but I'll wait till I have kids or something and will actually use the thing a little more. I used to spend a lot of time when I was younger decorating cupcakes and cookies etc etc whenever I was at my aunts house. It was one of her ways of keeping us entertained for a few hours, and we loved it! My aunt was always good at cake decorating, and her daughter followed suit. She ended up going to SAIT in Calgary and is now a great pastry chef for some fancy bakery. She's friggen awesome at it all, it's unbelievable.
Dario is growing out his beard as a bet for 6 months. His hair also. I figure this is what he'll look like come May:

Pretty good guess I would say.
I spent last night writing an essay to apply for hair school. The secret is out. I still have to finish a few more things and then I'll send that off and probably around this time next year I'll start the course. I'm actually really excited about it but it's pretty nerve wracking too. I have to look out for myself and steel fab isn't in my best interests anymore. I have noticed that my cramps are directly related with my back pain... I get both at the same time, if one starts, the other is soon to follow... and there's never a day that I come home from work without a sore back.
Even though I'm going to be going to hairschool I am still going to be working in the steel fab industry though. The school I will be going to is only 4 hours a day (I may take an evening course) or I can do a weekends course that is 9-5:30 saturday and sunday, and monday nights from 5-9. So I can work full time while I go to school. I may still finish up my apprenticeship if my body is able to handle it. I would like to finish it if I could, but it may not be possible. My health is more important than any job. But we'll see how that goes. Really, I could take my 4th year not long after I finish my hairdressing course if I wanted to. In order to entirely complete the program though I would need the hours and I probably wouldn't finish my hours until mid 2011. The point of doing the hairdressing course is to do something I love and am good at, but also so that it works into my lifestyle a little better. Not to mention it will work into a life with children one day too. If Dario and I have a family one day it would be impossible for me to work in steel fab with kids. Him and I both work a lot of hours, and very early in the morning, day care would be impossible, and I refuse to let my children be raised by someone else. So yeah.
The cat's out of the bag on all of that I guess.
Oh my god I almost forgot. Tonight when I picked up Mark and we were driving back to my place there was this big ass truck behind me with his high beams on. I couldn't see shit so I was getting pissed off, so I decided to slow down, A LOT, to hope that he would get the hint, but instead he decided to flash his high beams on and off. Which pissed me off even more because when he flashed them for the final time, he left them on again. I contemplated slamming on my brakes so he would rear end me, and claim that I thought I'd missed my friends driveway... but figured that was probably not the best way to go about it. So instead the street I needed to turn on was coming up, so I damn near came to a stop when I took the corner. But the guy decided to follow me!! And then I'm driving down this hill and he starts driving beside my car as if he's going to pass me, so I politely ignored him and kept driving, but drove in the middle of the road so he couldn't get past me and also so he would hit a parked car if he didn't back off. So finally he slowed down and turned down a different street, scarily close to mine. The whole ordeal just seemed insane, he was revving his truck up all pissed-off-like and was seriously right on my ass, so it was kind of scary. I figure I probably wasn't reacting to the situation the best way possible, but seriously, turn off your fucking high beams and quit being a dick to the rest of the world. I couldn't see anything and it could have very easily caused an accident so whatever. I don't feel bad. But when I got home I was a little worried that maybe he would decide to continue on the street I kept on and end up finding my car and trash it or something... so I will admit, the Fort girl in me came out, and so did my gun. I kept an eye out my bedroom window for a bit to make sure the asshole didn't come back and when I felt I was safe, I put my gun away.
I don't know what it is about having guns in my home, but it's always made me feel protected. Some people are really afraid of them and immediately see them as dangerous, but honestly they're harmless if they're handled properly. I'm pretty sure that all those idiots who shoot themselves in the face "cleaning their guns" aren't actually cleaning their guns. You can't clean your gun properly unless the thing is taken apart (if it's a bolt action,) or the action is clear. So I have a theory that all of those gun cleaning accidents are actually just suicides and murders gone wrong.
Anyways...
It is -38C in PG right now with the windchill factor. So it's about -40 in FSJ when you include the wind chill. I don't even remember how cold -40 feels anymore. It's -7C here right now and I'm freezing. I think it's colder inside my house though than outside... so that being said, I think I am going to go watch a movie out in the livingroom where it's a little warmer. My hands are about ready to fall off!
Budgets Keepin' Me Up At Night
This being off work shit is starting to get to me. I'm making about 35% less a month than I would if I was working full time. And for some stupid reason I just decided to calculate that tonight. I've overspent this month and while it's not throwing me into debt, it's not allowing me to save at the rate I would like to and need to. I understand that every penny counts, but it's hard to save when you see it adding up so slowly.
This being said, I've got it balanced so that about 84% of my monthly income is spent on non-negotiable bills. When I go back to work full time, only 57.1% of my total income will be put towards bills.
I guess I'm proud of the fact that I have been able to re-balance my budget in order to fit my new income and still find a way to save a little bit, especially since it's Christmas time and there was plenty of crap to be bought.
I was starting to feel a little bit down about the whole thing and I keep beating myself up over it all thinking that I'm not saving well enough... but now that I have finally sat down tonight and realized what I've been able to do for these few months of not working it is pretty cool.
And if anything, it makes me realize that I can really save more than I thought I was ever able to.
Obviously this is all under assumption that when I return to work it will be FULL time. No more of this missing work for sick days bullshit. I'm pretty determined to do whatever it takes to be at work when I feel shitty because there isn't going to be anything that can help me for awhile and I just have to do this and get through it.
But I guess even if I allow myself to spend 5-7% of my monthly income on going out and events etc, I can actually save 36.5%. Nearly 37% that I've lived perfectly fine without these past two months after my budget is re-balanced. And that's a pretty awesome feeling.
I thought that the time off from work happening right around Christmas was going to be the most inconvenient change in plans, but in fact it's turning out to be the best timing for this all to have happened.
I can live in a worst case scenario, and not need a credit card to do it. So cool. :)

It's long so get ready.
I am leaving in 8 days to go visit my family for Christmas. I'm hoping that it will be a clear day outside so that I can see the coastal mountains at their finest. Now that I know how to work my camera a little better maybe it will be possible to get a few better pictures this time around. I guess we will see. It's a beautiful view though.

I always enjoy flying, and this time around I'll have someone I know with me so that will be kind of nice. It's only a 55 minute flight which definitely beats the minimum 10 hour drive. But of course that flight only takes me to Prince George and there will be about 2 hours of driving afterwards to get to Fort St. James.
It's been awhile since I've had some extreme weather. I haven't seen more than 6 inches of snow in quite some time and I haven't felt temperatures below -8 in 2 years. I'm going to be a complete wimp when I get there and I know it. I checked out the weather forecast today and it's expected to hit the -20's by the weekend up there in PG and FSJ is usually 5 degrees colder. So I'm almost expecting it to be -30 by the time I'm there. There won't be nearly as much snow as there was the last winter I spent there but there's still a fair amount already.

I'm planning on doing a few things up there already. I have an elk draw so I'm hoping to get that filled. If I end up getting one of those then I will have to do a nasty drive back to PG to drop the meat off at the butchers. I will have to have my dad pick it up for me since they'll hang it for at least a week or two, and then butcher it. I have no idea how I'll get the meat, I suppose I will have to drive up sometime to pick it up or see what it would cost to DHL it. But the DHLing idea just sounds a little weird so we'll see. I might see if anyone I know will be coming down this way with a truck anytime soon and have them bring it down if they can.

Of course with all the snow there's a few things I want to check off my to do list. Outside of visiting of course.
1) Build a snow man.
2) Go sledding.
3) Go snowmobiling if possible.
4) Shoot an elk. (hunting in the snow will be a first for me but it's going to be so hard gutting anything in that type of weather so it should prove interesting)

Already the Christmas plans are getting frustrating. There's still the battle of who wants to see who when. My mom isn't doing Christmas dinner this year, instead her and some friends are doing a sort of pot luck dinner together. She wanted me to join them. Normally I would love to and it'd be a blast, but it's Christmas and to me it's a pretty personal holiday. On top of that I have a few things that are extremely important to me, my sister is my number one concern because I promised her I would be there for Christmas this year. I can deal with not seeing the rest of my family but holidays are still so extremely important to her, especially Christmas.

Normally how Christmas has always worked is we rotate days every year. Christmas morning I always spend at my dads first, and then we go out to moms. Christmas dinner is at dads house one year and moms house the next. Since the last time I was there I had dinner at my dads place, so technically I owe it to my mom to spend dinner with her this year... but it's not even at her house or with just the family. So because of that I've changed plans and told her I would do dinner at dads and then head out to her friends house afterwards. She however replied and told me that was fine but that she gets to have my brother and I on Christmas Eve. Also raising a problem because I already told my stepmom that I would do Christmas Eve with them at dads. So now I don't even know what to do. I'm 21 and should be able to make these decisions a little more easily, and if it wasn't for the fact that my sister is still so young I wouldn't care who's place I was at, but since Hannah's my priority I choose to spend the time with her. Even if I spend Christmas Eve at my moms then I'll still have to come back to my dads later so that I can wake up with the kids in the morning and just ugh. It's like this every year, and every year it feels equally shitty. I know my mom wants to spend time with us because we're her kids so obviously it's just as important to her as it is to my dad to have us, but it's almost as if she forgets Hannah exists.

Ah well. Enough of that. As I was finding pictures of my family, I realized again that I don't have any new pictures taken of my dad and I. And sadly enough when I look through all the family photos, there's very few, and I don't have ANY pictures of my siblings, dad and stepmom together. So I'm making it my goal this Christmas to get a family shot for once. I have no idea how I'm going to do that, maybe I'll see if I can borrow Dario's tripod and just set up the timer or something.
This picture has no relevance I just like it for some reason and I found it while picture searching.
Anyways... I ended up taking a bit of a trip down memory lane and found some gooders. I helped Alicia move Wednesday/Thursday (I even met Papa Quan!!) On Wednesday she asked me if I ever keep stupid things that remind me of Dario. I honestly couldn't think of anything because we aren't big gift givers so I don't have a lot of physical things to keep around, but I am definitely a picture person. I didn't think I had so many but when I when through the album titled "Dario" I realized I have the stupidest pictures saved and I don't even know how long ago he sent them to me. Some of them were sent even before we met.
Not really any clue why he sent this one. Probably to show me what he looked like clean shaven? And I would say he looks miserable clean shaven. In fact, all three of them look miserable in this picture haha.
I have pictures of Alicia the aussie before I even had a clue who she was!! And a picture of Danielle with highlights... which I gotta say, looks very nice.
I got this picture as a text message one day. Dario's chalk line busted at work and exploded all over his face haha. So he thought he'd prove to me that he does get dirtier than I did when I worked at the sawmill.
Finally Dario and I decided to get ballsy and meet. He flew up to PG and I met him at the airport. He had mad gas and tried to blame it on some guy on the plane, and I pretended to believe him haha. We got along great and he stayed up north with me for 9 days. Everything went even better than we expected I guess. We even had our first measurement argument of whether or not the board was a 2x8 or 2x6. Here's proof that I in fact was right and it was a 2x6. So beat that Dario. I WIN!

I ended up flying down here in May 2007 for a week and we hung out some more. And as crazy as it all sounds, we had only spent those 2 weeks in total together when I decided to move here in July of that year. We weren't even sure what was going to happen but I guess everything worked in our favour. We impacted eachothers lives in very huge ways and have ended up where we are today. So yeah, that's our story summed up, but the embarrassing secret of how we met is officially out. So there you have it.
Oh and Alicia Q. here is the disaster of what I did to Dario's hair... after he'd almost fixed it from the screw up. I gave him a nice big jackass type bald patch at the back! haha

And still my favourite picture of Dario ever :) ...

Like this one for instance:
And somehow I still fell in love with him. I bet you ten bucks he doesn't even remember sending me this picture haha. But oh yes, I kept it. I believe this was taken when he went to Kamloops with Naomi and friends. I could be wrong, I'm not sure, but I THINK that's where it's from.
Dario and I yes, met on the internet. The whole story is long and I'm actually a little embarrassed to tell people the true beginning to it all but I suppose I could share some details. Dario and I started talking probably 3 or more years ago via the stupidest website ever. Yep. Hot or Not. HAH. There. I said it. GAY I know don't even harp on me for it. He had a picture up where he was arm wrestling someone, and I'll be hnest... his arm got my attention haha. It even made me completely disregard his unibrow. And then I realized he had a really nice smile and he was tanned so I thought what the hell, lets talk. So yes, my initial attraction to him was based on his arms and skin colour. WEIRD I know.
So we started talking on msn and nothing ever came of it, he was a nice guy but for some reason we didn't really have much to talk about. In fact he ended up blocking and deleting me. I had two e-mail addresses, and when I decided to quit using the first one, I re-added my old msn list to my new msn addy, I never even noticed he was never online anymore so I couldn't even remember who he was when I found him on my new list. It was approximately a year after we had initially started talking. He accepted it for who knows what reason and we still had the odd conversation. Nothing major. I was dating a guy at the time. And then someone else. And it just seemed like I was pretty much always in a relationship. When I ended the relationship with Andy he had ended up being one of the only people online that night and I guess I needed someone to talk to. He listened. And I don't really know why, he had no idea who I was but it just all seemed like perfect timing.
We sent pictures back and forth and kept talking and eventually the conversations ended up growing longer and longer. Sometimes lasting hours without evening realizing it. So here's a few of at least 50 that he sent that I find amusing to share.
